The Big Headed or Gibba Turtles as they are sometimes called are captive breed and raised. These turtles in their natural habitat can be found in streams, rivers, ponds and marshes. This turtle is not known for basking often as it is a very shy turtle, but it will from time to time so it is important to have a basking platform of some kind for them to get out of the water on. In the wild they feed on plant material, small fish and a variety of insects. In captivity we have found that ours will readily feed on our premium turtle food, meal worms, crickets and plant matter.
