Overview:
The East African Serrated Side-Necked Turtle (Pelusios sinuatus), also known as the East African Swamp Turtle, is one of the largest African side-neck species. Native to freshwater rivers, lakes, and swamps across East and Southern Africa, it is named for the saw-like serrations along the rear edge of its carapace. With its powerful build, long neck, and sideways head retraction, this species is both visually striking and behaviorally fascinating. It thrives in spacious, warm aquatic environments and makes a rewarding pet for experienced keepers.
