Animal Sales Terms
Due to the complexity of live animal orders:
- All sales are final. No live animal orders may be canceled, returned, refunded, or disputed under any circumstances.
- If you qualify for one of our health guarantees, your refund will be issued to you in the form of store credit, only if the claims processed is completed properly.
- Store credit as it relates to a health guarantee may only be used to purchase a replacement animal, and not on supplies or order upgrades.
- If you are unsure about your purchase, please contact us prior to ordering for more information to make an informed decision.
Animal Adoption Terms
When adopting a turtle or tortoise from MyTurtleStore.com, you agree to the following:
- Purpose of Adoption: Turtles under 4 inches are not intended to be pets. They must be used for scientific, educational, export, or exhibit purposes ONLY. You agree to remain in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws that pertain to possessing a turtle or tortoise. You also agree that you have contacted the necessary individuals and determined that it is legal for you to own or posses a turtle or tortoise in your state for reasons of bona fide scientific, educational or export purposes and that these are the reasons you wish to obtain a turtle or tortoise from MyTurtleStore.com.
- Salmonella Awareness: Turtles may carry salmonella. Proper hygiene, such as washing hands after handling turtles or their habitats, is essential. It is your responsibility to handle turtles safely and not hold MyTurtleStore.com liable for any illness related to turtle handling.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws regarding turtle ownership. For states with restrictions (e.g., Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Oregon, New York, etc.), orders will be adjusted, substituted, or canceled based on legal requirements.
- No Guarantees on Lifespan or Health: While we provide healthy turtles, we cannot guarantee their lifespan or ongoing health outside of our 7-Day Health Guarantee. Proper care, including clean water and a suitable habitat, is essential for the turtle or tortoise’s survival, and your responsibility as an animal keeper.
- 18 Years of Age or Older: All individuals engaging in a business relationship (for example engaging in a purchase or adoption) with MyTurtleStore.com must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
All live animal sales are final. Due to the nature of live animal sales, no refunds or cancellations are permitted once an order has been placed. If you require additional details about an animal, contact us before purchasing. We are happy to assist!
Shipping and Substitution Policies
Restricted States:
- Massachusetts, New York, and Montana: We will contact customers with orders containing restricted species to modify their order with a legal alternative or to issue a refund.
- Maine and Oregon: All turtle and tortoise orders will be canceled and refunded. Product-only orders will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Payments
- We accept all major credit and debit cards.
- Orders must be paid in full before processing and shipping, this includes shipping upgrades if needed.

- MyTurtleStore.com does not provide guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of website content or products for any particular purpose.
- We are not liable for website downtime due to technical issues beyond our control.
