They are feeding on our Premium Baby Aquatic Turtle Food. They are healthy and active. The baby map turtle has a beautiful road map type pattern and the under part of it’s shell. This is called the plastron. Each turtle has it’s own unique pattern making them easy to tell who is who if you have more then one. Like all baby turtles you will want to feed them two times a day for the first year. We tell people that it is easier on your turtles water filter if you feed them in a separate bowl. Simply take your turtle from its home and place it into a bowl of room temperature water with a few pellets of food and let it be for about 20 minutes. After your turtle has had time to eat you should return him or her to their home. Be sure to wash the bowl you feed your turtle in and wash your hands with soap and water anytime after handling your turtle or its habitat. Remember turtles with a carapace less than 4 inches are sold for scientific, educational or export purposes only. The female map turtle grows to be around 6 to 8 inches in about a 7-year period.
